I had a dream
My name is Kyah, and I would like to tell you a personal story about how Akya came to life.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to a style of jewelry that seemed nearly impossible to find. It all was... beautiful, unique, and timeless, yet no matter how hard I looked, something always felt missing. That feeling stayed with me, until one day, I decided to stop searching and start creating.
When the world slowed down during the pandemic, I finally found the time and courage to bring my ideas to life. For years, I had been sketching designs, imagining how they might look in reality. It wasn’t easy, but as time went on, my dream became clearer, stronger. By early 2023, I knew it was time to take the next step.
I packed my bags
And traveled to Bali, a place where the art of silversmithing is a proud tradition, stretching back over hundreds of years. After considering where my designs could truly come to life, Bali stood out. Not only for its rich history but for the unparalleled skill of its artisans. For weeks, I explored the island, searching for the right partner. Then, as if by fate, I found them.. a small workshop that felt like the match I was looking for. With their expertise and warmth, I knew they could bring my designs to life in ways I never could on my own.
And so, Akya was born, a name that carries not just my vision, but the heart and soul of the talented Balinese artisans who make each piece with care and ethical craftsmanship.
But Akya is more than just the jewelry itself
I wanted to create something special, something different, a unique experience that feels like stepping into another world. From the design of the webshop to the stories woven into every corner of the brand, I’ve carefully crafted Akya to transport you into different times, even if just for a moment. My hope is that when you visit this store or wear something from us, you lose yourself in the magic, the story, and the beauty of something truly unique.
Today, those sketches that once lived only in my imagination have become something real, something I can hold and share with the world. My hope is that every piece of Akya jewelry carries the love and joy that went into creating it and brings a little magic to those who wear it.
